Collection of correspondence, 1 Jan. 1957 - 1 Feb. 1960 and 8 Jan. 1975 , and pamphlets, ca. 1960s, re sit-ins, freedom rides, and other aspects of student activism during Civil Rights movement; also including records, 1957 - ca. 1959, of the Greenville (S.C.) Council on Human Relations; and bulletin from Dr. Bagwell's funeral, 30 Sept. 2006, in Due West, S.C., with a biographical sketch re his life of activism and career in education. Student essays include: Lunch Counter Sit-ins: A Challenge to America's Role in World Affairs (1960); fragment of larger essay: "Pressures for Change Increase, 1960-1965" (pages 39 through 57), including footnotes; organizations represented include the South Carolina Council on Human Relations (newsletters, 1957-1958); the Southern Regional Council, Inc.; the N.C.
